Mayberry just needs some schooling in the Charlie Manuel school of hitting. Prior to last year I doubted if there was anything Manuel was good at other than teaching hitting. My point being I was dead wrong about Chollie and the man knows how to correct swings.

I like the move a lot. Golson wasn't progressing to the point where we needed him here and Mayberry has a lot of potential. I think we'll see Mayberry start the season with the Iron Pigs and get called up in late May/Early June.

I like that Gillick's name is tied to him - but it is also tied to Ibanez. Texas liked him - but did not love him and feels the same way about this trade. With Ibanez a soon-to-be 37 year old starting LFer, I am hoping Mayberry takes to Philadelphia coaching like the Octomom to crazy and we can use him as a respectable, and feared, backup. Hopefully the inside pitch won't be the kryptonite to those long arms.
