While I have lukewarm feelings about Considine, he has improved, and quite frankly the Eagles have more urgent needs both in free agency and in the draft to deal with. I anticipate that the Birds will resign Hanson to a relatively cheap contract and, after moving Lito Sheppard, will rely on him to be the #3 at CB

Thanks for commenting Marcus, welcome to the SOB Nation!

I agree with you, Hanson has absolutely held his own, particularly during the latter half of the 2008 season. However, assuming that Lito is gone we are left with a CB rotation of Samuel, Brown, Hanson and Nothing.

A single injury leaves us dangerously low at corner. I'd like to see the front office take this situation seriously, and I think they will. Hopefully nobody's paying attention and we can resign Hanson for cheap while adding another competitor with ball skills and strong tackling. Corey Ivey is my best-case scenario; he's built a lot like Hanson but plays with a bit more physicality and consistency.

I believe that Joselio Hanson is most deserving of getting a contract that will keep him the nickel corner with the Eagles. He is the perfect man-man corner that can cover well in Philly's high percentage blitz schemes. He only gave up one touchdown last year to the Bengals in a zone coverage . As for his size or lack there of, he makes up for it with his foot speed and technique. He has also held his own when he started a handful of games over the last two years because of other player's injuries.
