These Two Were Back at it on Friday

As part of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend festivities, Thaddeus Young and Kevin Durant took on rookies Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo and Derrick Rose in the Rookie vs. Sophomore challenge.

Durant’s play was the obvious highlight of the night, as the second year player put up 46 points and was a man among boys.  Despite his need to bulk up, Durant sure is looking like he is going to be the truth, he is currently 5th in the league in scoring.

Thaddeus put up 13 points, 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal in the game.  Although it pales in comparison to Durant, Young’s points were good for second most on the winning Sophomore squad.  It’s looking like Young may be one of the better players drafted in 2007, well played Billy King.

Billy did a pretty good job in the draft the last few seasons he was with the club. Iguodola, Lou Williams, and Thadeus Young all appear to be young stars in the making. If only he didn’t have a bad habit of giving out/taking on horrible contracts to big men like Kenny Thomas, Chris Webber, and matt Geiger. Good think we don’t have a GM who does that anymore…
